Java Language Specification
First Edition

The Java Language Specification, First Edition, is the first official, authoritative specification of the Java programming language. It was published in July 1996.

It specifies the Java programming language as implemented in JDK 1.0.

This specification is not available online anymore, however, it is archived in the Internet Archive’s WayBack Machine.
